Sale transactions and prices
Sales on 1812 Minerals website are conducted in Canadians dollars and prices are thus presented in Canadian dollars.
To place a mineral specimen order
Once you have selected one or more mineral specimens from our collections there are two options. The cart function which offers flat rate shipping of 15$ for Ontario-Quebec, western-eastern provinces $18 and18.50$ for US orders. For the rest of the world please contact us for a quote. Payment is via the Square payments system. If you would like real time calculated shipping and or use paypal DO NOT USE THE CART BUTTON, please click on the inquire button in the item description quoting the item number(s). We will send back price including shipping. If you agree we will send a paypal invoice for payment.
If you have comments, questions or would like more information about one or more specimens from our collections, please use the contact form or send us an e-mail at [email protected] with the specimen(s) inventory number and principal mineral name and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Please note we reserve the rights to refuse the sale of any specimens.
Payment
Payment can be made via the cart function and Square payments. 1812 Minerals also accepts payments via paypal. If you wish to use Paypal please use the inquiry link on the item to generate an invoice from Paypal.
Credit cards payment: Credit card information is provided through a fully secure independent provider webpage (Paypal and Square) and is not recorded nor stored in a database after your purchase has been made.
Personal or business checks payment: Checks are accepted only from known and trusted clients based in Canada.
Shipping
Shipping is done via Canada Post services unless otherwise requested. Shipping is flat rate or shipping rates can be calculated on a per-order basis and vary based on parcel weigh, size and destination if desired. Shipping is normally done within 3 days after payment has been received (money deposited via Paypal). Customs and/or duty fees for minerals shipped outside of Canada are the responsibility of the clients.
Because we take great care in packaging mineral specimens for shipping, responsibility for loss or damage to parcels and their content are to be assumed by clients and therefore we encourage you to insure parcels for their full content value. However, within 3 days of receiving a parcel, we will assume any damage to a mineral specimen if the parcel shows no external nor internal damage. Such damaged specimens should be returned to us by same shipping service in its undamaged original packaging material for exchange or credit towards future . Refund will be possible if no alternative specimen(s) can be offered. Return shipping and insurance fees including taxes are to be paid by the client.
In order to allow you to save money on shipping fees if you intend to make multiple purchases, upon request from you we may hold one or more mineral specimens for 15 days. After 15 days an invoice will be sent for the full order. Whenever such request is done, the specimen will be labelled “Reserved” on our website pages until shipping is actually done.
Returns
Returns of mineral specimens are accepted if they do not meet your expectations for whatever reasons. Please notify us by e-mail within 7 days of receiving your specimen(s) and let us know if you require a refund. Only the amount paid for the specimen(s) will be refunded, exchanged for specimen(s) of same total value or credited to your account after we have received the returned specimen(s) in the exact same condition it was packaged and shipped to you. Original shipping and insurance fees including taxes are non-refundable nor credited in any circumstances and return shipping and insurance fees are to be paid by the client. Return shipping shall be made with same shipping service used for original delivery. Before returning a mineral specimen clients, please understand and take into account that, holding a mineral specimen in your hands cannot be replaced by photographs whatever their quality, we try our best to provide accurate descriptions and high quality photographs without enhancement other than colour accuracy. Monitors on mobile devices, PC or Mac will render colours differently.
