We are a purveyor of collector grade global minerals and crystals with over 40 years of collecting experience. Our specialties include Cobalt Ontario area minerals including Silver, Ontario minerals and minerals from around the globe. So why the name 1812 Minerals? The mohs scale for mineral hardness was created by German geologist and mineralogist Friedrich Mohs in 1812. The scale ranges from one to ten. Diamond is ten on the scale.  Upon request we can also supply material suitable for lapidary purposes such as cabbing.
My First mineral collecting experience was in the Bancroft Ontario Canada area in the late in 1970’s as a youth.  At university I specialized in physical geography and geology.  We still frequent the Bancroft area to collect and camp with my family. Cobalt Ontario is another favourite spot to collect with our metal detectors.  In addition I am active member and former president of The Walker Mineralogical Club
