- Rich Native Silver in Calcite, Millerett Mine, Haultain Township, Ontario 8cm CO166
Rich Native Silver in Calcite, Millerett Mine, Haultain Township, Ontario 8cm CO166
This is a beautiful specimen native Silver in Calcite. The Silver stands out nicely in contrast to white Calcite. A larger central vein of Silver protrudes out from the Calcite for a good sculptural effect. Smaller veinlets of Silver are present through the Calcite as well as a few small patches of Cobalt arsenide. As an added bonus the Calcite has pink fluorescence under long wave UV light. From the lesser known locality the Millerett Mine Haultain Township, Gowganda area Ontario Canada. This mine had very rich veins but production only lasted from 1909 until 1912 as the ore ran out. Specimens are not frequently seen on the market. Dimensions 8x6x4cm 162 grams.
