Herringbone Silver Crystals in Calcite, Millerett Mine, Haultain Township, Ontario 8cm CO160
This is a beautiful specimen of very high grade herringbone and arborescent Silver in Calcite. The bright white Silver herringbones and arborescent patterns are coated in the shiny grey Cobalt arsenide. The Calcite has been etched away to expose the intricate Silver crystals. Veins of Silver can also been seen in the remaining Calcite and Diabase. Specimens of this quality are uncommon. A very rich piece of ore. From the lesser known locality the Millerett Mine Haultain Township, Gowganda area Ontario Canada. This mine had very rich veins but production only lasted from 1909 until 1912 as the ore ran out. Specimens are not frequently seen on the market. Dimensions 8x3x3.25cm 75 grams.
