The Cobalt area is well known for Silver however many other (perhaps under appreciated) mineral species can be found. This is saw cut vein section of coarsely grained Calcite. In the Calcite are the minerals Nickeline (bronze) and Rammelsbergite (grey). In this case they are hosted together in a swirling coliform appearing pattern. The white Calcite provides a nice contrast. From The Beaver Mine Coleman Township, Timiskaming District near Cobalt Ontario. Dimensions 10x8x1 cm 166.8 grams.
