Rare locality find Scolecite sprays with Albite, Shigar Valley Pakistan 4 cm PK41
An unusual Scolecite specimen with Albite Feldspar crystals and minor green Chlorite. The largest Albite is 1.25cm long. The matrix also has fibrous white Amphibole sprays. The specimen is most likely from one of the Alpine-type cleft deposits, as similar specimens have been found in the Italian and Austrian Alps. The piece features very attractive radial sprays of thin, white prismatic crystals of the zeolite mineral Scolecite. From a very limited find in the Shigar Valley, Shigar District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. Scolecite specimens from this locality are now rarely available.
