Numerous jet-black Spinel arranged in Forsterite crystal matrix. The Spinel (up to 1cm in size) have excellent luster and feature the classic octahedral form. The matrix on consists of massive Forsterite and tabular Forsterite crystals. The green gem variety of Forsterite is known as Peridot. The Calcite in this specimen has been etched away to expose the Spinel and Forsterite. From the well-known Canadian locality Parker Mine, Notre-Dame-du-Laus, Antoine-Labelle RCM, Laurentides, Québec, Canada. Dimensions are 8.5x6x5cm 150 grams.
