Andradite Garnets & Epidote crystals with Clinochlore Marki Khel, Spin Ghar , Afghanistan 7cm AFG35
Numerous dark cinnamon brown Andradite garnets rest on a bed of pale yellow-green Epidote crystals. The lustrous garnets have good sharp edges and range in size from micros up to 0.5cm. The Epidote crystals are micro in size up to 3mm. They are very lustrous and provide an excellent contrast. Scattered about the matrix are some small, bladed clumps of dark green Clinochlore. A very showy piece from Marki Khel, Spin Ghar range, Sherzad District, Nangarhar, Afghanistan. Very few specimens are now available on the market from this locality. Dimensions 7x4x3.5cm 97 grams.
