Lustrous Purple Dissolution Fluorite Yaogangxian Mine, Chenzhou, Hunan China 4.5cm CH41
A grouping of translucent purple Fluorite crystals perched on Quartz. The interesting feature of the Fluorite is that it has smooth faces and rounded edges giving a partially melted appearance. This would indicate at some point while in the pocket the Fluorite has been exposed to hot fluids which have reformed the cubic crystals to the current appearance. The largest crystal is 1.5cm on edge and has a pale purple phantom. Associated with Fluorite is Chlorite included Quartz crystals and micro Pyrite cubes. The Fluorite has strong blue fluorescence under long wave UV light. A unique specimen from the Yaogangxian Mine, Yaogangxian W-Sn ore field, Yizhang Co., Chenzhou, Hunan, China. Dimensions 4.5x4x3 cm 33.8. grams. Specimen video click (2) Lustrous Purple Dissolution Fluorite Yaogangxian Mine, Chenzhou, Hunan China 4.5cm CH41 - YouTube
