Smoky Quartz crystal with a Fluorapatite crystal, Nuristan Afghanistan 6 cm AFG26
A 6cm Smoky Quartz crystal with a pale yellow Fluorapatite crystal sidecar. The Quartz has nice luster and good translucency. The Quartz crystal has an interesting morphology with a twist along the long axis and some parallel growth features to long axis as well. To my eye a less refined gwindel type Quartz. There is a 1cm lilac purple Fluorapatite on one side of the Quartz. The Fluorapatite fluoresces a pale under long wave UV. Overall good condition. Associated with Quartz are some Albite crystals and Muscovite mica. Overall condition is good. The Quartz has has a few flea bites at the termination and sides. Dimensions 6x4.5x3.25cm 62.8 grams.
