Translucent Blue Fluorite with Arsenopyrite Yaogangxian Mine, Chenzhou, Hunan, China 11cm CH29
Translucent blue interlocking cubes of Fluorite. A complex grouping of multiple Arsenopyrite crystals sits in the midst of the Fluorite crystals. The largest Fluorite is 2.5cm on edge. A Chlorite group mineral is also included within some of the Fluorite and is on the matrix. The The cubes have excellent luster and are quite transparent. The matrix also has a band of massive purple Fluorite which can be seen through the blue Fluorite creating a nice contrast. Elongated slender Quartz crystals are scattered on the matrix. The Fluorite has electric blue fluorescence under long wave UV light. Very good overall condition, some edge wear, cleaves and contacts on the periphery. From the Yaogangxian Mine, Yaogangxian W-Sn ore field, Yizhang Co., Chenzhou, Hunan, China. A good sized cabinet specimen at 11.x9.x5 cm 429.2 grams.
