Translucent Pale Blue Fluorite on Calcite, Shangbao Mine, Leiyang Co., Hunan, China 10cm CH25
Numerous lustrous translucent pale Fluorite crystals coat a Calcite rhomb. The Fluorite has octahedral modifications and features stepped or laddered faces. The crystals range in size from .5cm to 1cm on average. The Calcite rhomb has a series of smaller rhombs on the display face giving a nice textural feature. Chalcopyrite is scattered on the Fluorite and Calcite. The Fluorite fluoresces bright blue under long wave UV. From the Shangbao Mine, Leiyang Co., Hengyang, Hunan, China. Specimens from this mine are becoming more scarce. This cabinet sized specimen is in excellent condition.
