Metallic Golden interlocking Pyrite Cubes, Shangbao Mine, Hengyang, Hunan, China 4cm CH23
The Shangbao Mine is well-known for its gorgeous and colorful Fluorite specimens. The mine however has produced some excellent Pyrite specimens. This a very nice large example of interlocking-interpenetrating cubes. The Pyrite has a beautiful golden mirror luster with subtle striations on the faces. Sits perfectly for display. A small cubes juts out the top on a slight angle giving the specimen an architectural look. From the Shangbao Mine, Leiyang Co., Hengyang, Hunan, China. The is longer producing so these specimens are getting much harder to find. Condition is good overall. The edges do have dings and chips in spots.
