Purple Translucent Fluorite with Pyrite and Quartz, Yaogangxian Mine, Hunan China, 5cm CH13
A unique specimen of translucent Fluorite sprinkled with Pyrite cubes. Not only is the Fluorite coated in Pyrite cubes (ranging in size from 1-2mm) some cubes are also included with the Fluorite. The Fluorite features some stepped faces and what appears to a second growth on Fluorite on the surface. Associated with the Pyrite and Fluorite is Chlorite included and coated Quartz crystals. Some of the Quartz is covered in a second generation of Quartz crystals. The Fluorite has electric blue fluorescence under long wave UV light. This is very aesthetic viewed with naked eye but also quite interesting viewed under magnification. From the Yaogangxian Mine, Yaogangxian W-Sn ore field, Yizhang Co., Chenzhou, Hunan, China.
