Fluoro-Richterite crystals in Calcite, Essonville roadcut near Wilberforce, Ontario 14.5cm GN21
Numerous large tabular crystals of the rare Amphibole Fluoro-Richterite are richly set in the calcite matrix on this dramatic large specimen from this well-known roadcut locality. Many of the crystals are sharply terminated, including the largest doubly terminated, 3cm in length 1.25 cm wide. A 2.5m elongated prism sticks out the Calcite on the other side . Quite a few doubly terminated crystal are set in the Calcite. A few of the crystals have contacts and or are cleaved. As an added bonus the pink calcite has strong LW UV fluorescence. From the Essonville fluoro-richterite occurrence (Essonville roadcut), Monmouth Township, Haliburton County, Ontario, Canada (near Wilberforce Ontario) Dimensions are 14.5x7.5x3cm. 263 grams
