Red brown Andradite-Grossular crystal with Pyrite crystals in an Epidote rich matrix. The garnets at Marmora are typically zoned between andradite and grossular. (both species present). What make this specimen pop is a nice 2 cm grouping of golden Pyrite crystals associated with the Garnets. The largest Garnet is 1cm wide. Complete Pyrites with Garnet are harder to find at this locality. From the Marmoraton Iron Mine, Marmora Ontario Canada. Overall dimensions 11.5x8.75x8.5cm 815 grams.
