Herringbone Silver Crystals in Calcite, Millerett Mine, Haultain Township, Ontario 6.5cm CO259
This is a beautiful specimen of very high grade ore, herringbone Silver in Calcite. The bright white Silver herringbones patterns are coated in the shiny grey Cobalt arsenide. The Calcite has been partially etched away to expose the intricate Silver crystals. Veins of Silver can also been seen in the remaining Calcite. Specimens of this quality are uncommon and not easy to find. A very rich piece of ore from the lesser known locality the Millerett Mine Haultain Township, Gowganda area Ontario Canada. This mine had very rich veins but production only lasted from 1909 until 1912 as the ore ran out. Specimens are not frequently seen on the market. Dimensions 6.5x3.5x2cm 67 grams.
