The Cobalt area is well known for Silver however many other (perhaps under appreciated) mineral species can be found. This is a saw cut vein with light polish. The mineral Nickeline (bronze) is hosted in the vein. A few parts of the Nickeline are cored with mineral Breithauptite which is seen as pinkish red spots. The Nickeline exhibits a more unusual flowing pattern reminiscent of arborescent patterns seen in Silver. Some green Annabergite is on the exterior. From The Penna Mine Harris Township, Cobalt area, Cobalt-Gowganda region, Timiskaming District, Ontario, Canada. Of note the Penna Mine was the last shaft sunk by Agnico-Eagle Mines in the famous Silver district and marked the end of an era. Dimensions 4.5x1.75xcm 105 grams.
