Lustrous Green Tremolite Crystals, Musclow-Greenview Rd, Monteagle Township, Ontario, 6.5cm GN52
A large glassy green group of Tremolite crystals. The crystals range in size from 2mm to 1cm. They are the less common blocky monoclinic form rather that flat blades. The piece has naturally eroded out the calcite which hosted it. The crystals are quite lustrous and gemmy in spots. Some crystals have cleavage and contacts but overall very good condition. From an unusual locality the Musclow Greenview Road roadcuts near HWY 62, Monteagle Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada. It was also known as the Turkey farm road cut. The Turkey farm is long gone. A very small site with little or no? specimens left to collect. Dimensions 6.5x5.5x2cm 44 grams.
